Their honeymoon had been a much anticipated event in Sarah and Edmund's life. Sarah was in charge of everything: reservations, getting the best deals, booking hotels, planning trips, planning events, planning whole days, getting the food, making the lists of things they needed. Sarah had organised everything down to the very last straw. The plans had been in circulation for weeks, something that Edmund and Sarah had decided a few nights after their wedding. They had been excited ever since. And now the day had finally come.
The alarm started ringing at the crack of dawn, six in the morning. Sarah's eyes peeled open, and she hit the button on the top, rolling over and curling up into Edmund's arms, pressing herself next to his body. The plan was to wake up early, go get the car, and head off to the big city, New York, New York. Sarah smiled, lacing her fingers into her husband's sleeping hand. "Hey." she whispered, squeezing his hand a bit to wake up him. Once she saw his eyes peer open, she smiled softly up at him, and kissed his lips. "Today's the big day!" she said, excitedly, nearly jumping up and down in the bed. She squirmed with eagerness, and then planted another kiss on his lips. After a few moments of laying there with him, Sarah had pulled the covers off of her body, and ran to the closet, leaping in the air. Although she had just woken up, Sarah felt energized and excited for the next two weeks. It was something she had been looking forward to all of her life, going on her honeymoon with her husband she loved. But never in her wildest imagination could she have thought of something so perfect. A road trip, to every city they could want to go to along the east coast. It was magical. Their route included places that were near and dear to both Edmund and Sarah, it would be a wonderful time to bond and really become close with her husband.
Sarah had made Edmund pack nearly a full week before the scheduled departure date, and checked his bags every day at least twice to make sure everything was there. Her bags were also packed, and sat beside his, hers neat and organized, next to his cute attempt to make Sarah happy. She smiled, and rumaged through the nearly bare closet, finally deciding on one of the most hideous things Edmund had owned, a plaid puke green blazer. Sarah slipped it over her shoulders and laughed at herself, then running back into the bedroom. She placed his glasses on her eyes and flew onto the bed, wrapping her arms around Edmund and giggling. "Sarah! Wake up!" Sarah squealed, pretending to be him, and giggling. "It's time to goooo." she whinned, poking fun at Edmund and adjusting the glasses up on her nose, snorting loudly. "According to my calculations it is 6:03 am, precisly the departure time for our trip."

Edmund had never been a morning person, and so at six in the morning, he was in no mood to get up. He had curled into a fetal position and wrapped himself in the blanket and was rather enjoying the warmth of the little cocoon he had constructed for himself. He was even having a rather nice dream about Sarah involving unicorns and Kafka. Somewhere in the back of his subconscious, he had heard the alarm start ringing, but it was shut off so fast that it didn’t really wake him up, and he only wrapped his arms around what he thought was a pillow, but in fact was Sarah, and he nuzzled up close to her in his sleep. Feeling something squeezing his hand, he stirred and opened one eye just the tiniest bit. Sarah had taken the chance to kiss him, and he lazily smiled, not bothering to open his eyes. He had heard her excitedness and giggled slightly, mumbling something unintelligible, but retreated further into the blanket as she bounced on the bed. She had jumped out of the bed after kissing him once again, and Edmund settled back into the blankets, and had nearly drifted back to sleep.
He was perfectly aware of how excited she was for the trip; he was as well, but not to the point of packing his bags a week in advance. He was far from as organised as his wife was and he tended to leave that stuff to her, for he knew it irked her if she wasn’t in control anyway. Besides, he hadn’t really even packed his own suitcase; she had taken out all the “bad” fashion choices and packed his horrid light blue bathing suit that he had tried to conveniently forget at home. He felt something around his middle and he heard giggling, so he thought it was safest to open his eyes. He squinted, trying to focus the ridiculous sight of Sarah in his glasses and hi s brown suit jacket that he had forgotten all about. She squealed at him, in which sounded like a poor attempt at a Scottish accent, and he pulled himself up to a sitting position, trying to grab his glasses from her, as he said, “Oi, I don’t sound like that…do I?” Dorian had jumped up onto the bed, and Edmund buried his cold hands in the cat’s warm fur, smiling, then explaining to Sarah, “Fuzz therapy.”
Figuring he wasn’t going to get anymore sleep with Sarah in the mood she was in, he got up and sat on the side of the bed, searching for his slippers with his feet. After he got those on, he lumbered into the bathroom where he washed his face with cold water in attempt to wake himself up a bit. He brushed his teeth and tried to flatten his bedhead with his hand before giving up and returning to their bedroom, where he gave Sarah a bear hug, then promptly stole back his glasses, giving her a cheeky grin afterwards.

Sarah giggled happily, and nodded her head. "You dooo sound like that." she said, laughing out loud and rolling from on top of him to her side of the bed. Dorian soon joined the adventure. "Dorrrian." Sarah said, smiling and running her fingers along the top of his head. Edmund had explained his fuzz therapy, which had made Sarah laugh out loud. She was hyper, way too hyper for it to be the crack of dawn, and her excitment was overwhelming. She couldn't believe the day had finally come. Sarah felt herself falling even more in love with Edmund just thinking about the adventures they'd have.
When Edmund had sat up, in search of his slippers, Sarah kneeled over to him, wrapping her arms around him from the back and nuzzling her head next to his. She kissed his neck softly, and smiled. "I'm so excited." she whispered. Soon after, she slid her arms out from around him, and let him continue on to his morning routine.
Sarah sprawled back into the bed on Edmund's side and smiled over at the cat. Dorian was adorable, and recently, Sarah and him had really been getting along. "I'ma miss you, kitty." Sarah said, frowning a bit. She lifted Dorian up and set him on her lap, running her fingers behind the cat's ears and softly singing Mary Poppin's songs to him. After a while though, she was interupted by Edmund returning, snatching the glasses off of her face. Sarah flashed the most pathetic look she could, sticking out her bottom lip and quivvering it softly as the cat jumped from her lap and to the bottom of the bed.
Sarah reached her hands up as if asking Edmund to help her out of bed. When he grasped her hands, she quickly stood, her stature short compared to his. It was funny, seeing them stand next to one another. For he was tall and skinny, and she was much shorter than him. Sarah laced her arms around his neck and smiled. Sarah tip toed up and stared into his eyes, smiling gently. Then, her eyes locked onto a fly away piece of hair he had missed, and she pressed it down, fumbling with it until it was in place and then grinned. "You look so handsome." she whispered, tilting her head to the side and forcing a half-frown on her face. "I guess it was a good thing you took those glasses back." Soon after, she had grinned, and ran her fingers along his neck, eskimo kissing his nose. She then left the embrace, and walked to the closet, to actually get dressed.
Sarah had walked in, staring at the few outfits she left for herself. Their plans for today included driving to New York, and going around the city, then going to see a broadway show later in the evening. The part that Edmund had planned for this particular city was the broadway show; he chose himself which show that he wanted to see and kept it a complete secret from Sarah. It was nice for her to relax a bit about that, and it gave her something to really look forward to.
Sarah stared at the clothing, finally deciding on a pair of her comfortable, nice skinny jeans, and an old sweatshirt from college. Sarah stripped from her sleeping clothes, placing them in the hamper, and slipping on her new clothes for the day. Then, she pulled her hair up into a messy bun in the back of her head, and rubbed her eyes a bit, figuring she looked just fine for the car ride there. Sarah returned to their bedroom and smiled, locking eyes with her husband.
outfit hurr!

Edmund grabbed her hands and pulled her up from the bed, giving her a hug afterwards. He slouched when she reached up to the top of his head so she could reach it and smiled sheepishly when she was done fussing with it, blushing and shaking his head no when she said he looked handsome. He still didn’t understand why she insisted on calling him that; he wasn’t handsome. His brother was the handsome one. He was just…well, he was bumbling and confused Edmund. “Actually,” he said quietly, “They looked better on you.” He smiled and grinned back, enjoying the moment before she pulled away and walked to the closet, where he cheekily pretended to follow, then gave her a shocked look and covered his mouth, before grabbing the clothes she had laid out for him from the shelf and ran into the bathroom.
Sure they’d been married for a week now, but Edmund still couldn’t get over his insecurity. He didn’t even undress around Liam; the man who looked exactly like him. Stripping off his shirt and sweater at the same time, he piled it on the floor and pulled on a white t-shirt, then a white button up over it, buttoning the buttons as he hummed to himself. Afterwards, he stripped off his pyjama pants and pulled on a pair of cords, when he realised he’d forgotten his belt. Holding his pants up with both hands he shuffled back to the closet, where Sarah was doing her hair and sheepishly said, “Forgot this,” holding up the belt. He pulled on his black sweater and fixed his collar and started a search for socks. Picking up two from under the floor, he pulled them on quickly, not taking the time to notice that one was red and one was green. Balling up his pyjamas, he threw them onto the bed and grabbed their luggage, carrying it downstairs.

As Sarah was pulling her hair up into a bun, Edmund popped in and suprised her. She nearly jumped, scared out of her mind. Sarah laughed softly at him - he looked so silly holding his pants up like that. And although she smiled over at him, she wondered why he had been so self-concious. They had been married for a week, but been together for so long. Sarah felt completely comfortable around Edmund, in every aspect. She wondered why he was so shy about even merely getting dressed around her. Although they had been together for what seemed like forever, Sarah had only ever seen him without his shirt on. On their wedding night was the farthest they had ever gone, even though it wasn't that much at all. But as Edmund slipped on his belt, Sarah found herself wondering what it would be like, to do more with Edmund. She had always been sexually attracted to him, and found that with every day that passed by, she found it harder and harder to just merely curl up and fall asleep at night, in his arms.
Sarah reached over and squeezed Edmund's hand, smiling and planting a soft kiss on his neck, which was the closest she could get without having him lean down. Sarah exited the closet, and went into their extra room, the 'upstairs office', where they had kept their bags. Sarah had two large suitcases and a big purse filled with necessities. She grabbed nearly everything, figuring that Edmund would soon follow and pick up the rest of the things that needed to be brought. On her way out, Sarah thought about Edmund. Thought about what it would be like, to do anything with him. She was so in love with him, and she knew for a fact that she would never fall out of love with him. So she wondered, would that make it better than all of the movies? What would it be like, to really really let go for once, and just relax?
Sarah dragged the bags downstairs, and out to the car, loading them and checking them off of her list. Soon, she was followed by Edmund, who had managed to bring the rest of the luggage down. Sarah smiled. "Thank you, handsome." she said, her teeth gleaming. It was still kind of dark out, the fog lining the top of their lawn. Sarah was kind of chilly, but knew that it would soon warm up. She laced her arms around Edmund and snuggled into his neck, taking a deep breath. "Here we gooo." she said, with a small laugh under her breath.
Everything seemed to be packed, and the luggage was in the car. Sarah had gone through many check lists, multiple times, and figured they weren't forgetting anything. As she went back to rummage through and make sure they had everything, Sarah paused and stared at Edmund. When they locked eyes, Sarah saw how patient he was trying to be with her, knowing that she had to make sure everything was perfect. However, one thing Sarah promised herself was that she'd just let loose. Sarah thought for a moment, and then slammed the back door shut. "Come on, before I change my mind." Sarah said to Edmund, walking quickly towards the drivers seat of the car and getting in, deciding that what they had would be fine, even if they had forgotten something. Sarah was ready to go, ready to spend the next to weeks with her husband, and ready to truly be herself for once in her life, without having to worry about anything in the world. Once Edmund had gotten in, she twisted the key to the ignition, and started the car, backing out of the driveway and headed towards the high way.

It wasn’t that Edmund wasn’t interested in Sarah, physically – he was just another hot blooded man when it came to that. But the deciding factor was his insecurity. It hadn’t been anything Sarah had done; she was constantly telling him he was handsome. And she hadn’t been the only one either; he’d always had people fawning over his looks. But somehow, Edmund was completely blind to this fact, and ever since grade school he had been very self-conscious about his features; his gangly stature and his large feet were never something he had been proud of. He couldn’t put out of his mind how other kids used to tease about the fact that they could count his ribs through his skin, or how if someone saw, they’d still be able to do the same today. Or how he had been stuck with the name of Ichabod all throughout P.E. and was always the last guy picked for teams. As a result, he was scared to go further with Sarah, afraid of disappointing her, or worse, worrying her. He knew it was ridiculous, but he couldn’t help the unnecessary fear. Still, it was hard for him to simply sleep next to her every night, wondering what it’d be like.
He had carried the rest of the luggage down, and had paused to put his pea coat on, and his scarf hung loosely around his neck. Locking the front door behind him, he smiled giddily as she thanked him and snuggled into his neck, he gave her a short nod and a peck on the cheek. After loading the luggage in the back of the car, he smiled and shook his head when Sarah rummaged through, making sure they had everything. After she had decided all was well, he chuckled and walked around to the passenger’s side and sat down, figuring that Sarah would want to drive as well. Buckling up, he watched out the window as they headed towards the highway.
It was hard to believe that he was really going on his honeymoon. Sure he and Sarah had travelled before, but not by car, and not to so many places. He smiled over at her, and then turned his full attention to the window as they drove out of Boston.

Sarah smiled, as they hit the highway. She drove rather quickly, but still had much time to just enjoy the sights around them, the car remaining mostly quiet. Sarah eventually reached the outskirts of Boston, and turned on the GPS system, programming the hotel they booked in New York City. They had woke up early to get the two hour drive over with, so that they'd have nearly the whole day to spend in the city.
After a few hours, Sarah had pulled near the sign to the entrance of New York. There had been small conversation between Sarah and Edmund, but not much more than simple silly things like what the cloud looked like, or why would people from Arizona be up here. "Have you ever been here?" Sarah asked, forgetting if he had. She smiled as they entered the outskirts of the city, where their hotel was located. After parking the car, Sarah got out, and went towards the back to grab her bags.

The ride to New York City had been rather uneventful, despite Edmund’s attempts to entertain Sarah and him. They’d started out just talking, but there was really only so much one could say about clouds or Arizonians. After about an hour, Sarah had told him to stop singing and ever since then, he’d been keeping a tally of all the different cars that had whizzed by them on the highway. His count of yellow cars was becoming more and more skewed as they entered the outskirts of the city, and frustrated, he finally gave up his count as the traffic got heavier and heavier. Turning to look at Sarah, he gave her a rather pathetic look that had “I want to get out of this car” written all over it. Edmund was as bad as a five year old when it came to sitting still for long periods of time, and the car trip had been rather hard for him. Unfortunately for Sarah, Edmund, who also held the temperament of said five year old, decided that she needed to know his pain. “Are we there yet?” he started, as they pulled onto another road, “My legs are killing me.”
Luckily for Sarah, she had asked her question before Edmund had much time to fully start his whining, and he nodded, as his face lit up. “I came here for a college interview once. And there was also a conference here not to long ago. Fun city it is,” he rambled. As soon as she parked, he soon busied himself in grabbing his sole suitcase and fumbled through his pockets, looking for the reservation papers. By that time, Sarah seemed to have gotten her stuff together, and he led the way into the hotel and after chatting with the desk clerk, he decided to let Sarah handle it, for the clerk seemed to have issues understanding his accent. Luckily, Sarah seemed to be able to smooth it over, as she always did.
They had gone up to their room to set down their stuff and regroup.
Not done.
